The Spirit We should follow
The spirit who has motivated us in the field of education was Baba Ganda Singh. He took birth at village Dhura, District Sangrur in a farmer’s family named Bhola Singh in the year of 1885.
Since the early days of his life he had been inclined towards education. To satisfy his desire for knowledge he went to Gurudwara Sahib and had discussions with the Granthi named Kishan Singh.
After India got independence he got his three grandsons admitted in Khalsa High School Dhuri, as there was no school at village Dhura. With his interest and motivation two of his great grandsons have been teaching in the universities of USA, after getting their Ph.D. Degree from there, they have the honour to be the gold medallists throughout.
Baba Ganda Singh had been a helping hand to the poor and needy. He lived an eighty nine years of spotless life. Due to his motivation seven members of his family have offered their services to the Indian Army. Due to his guidance and motivation this institute has been opened to provide the best education to the students of this area in year 2002.
There are number of schools with modern/international names. But the life of Baba Ganda Singh Ji had set an example for the generations to come, so to commemorate the legacy of his life, the school has been honoured with the name of Baba Ganda Singh Public Senior Secondary School, Langrian (Amargarh)

S. Jagga Singh Ji

In 2002 S. Jagga Singh Ji started BGS Public School that showed Amargarh and its surrounding villages that we could go further, do more and achieve the impossible, and today, BGS Public Sen. Sec. School is at the top in the area for imparting quality education. He had a great love for education. He went door to door to spread the light of Education which is our Motto. His constant concern and passion for the underprivileged showed that some lives are meant for greater good.
He lit the torch of education, which his coming generations are carrying with the same enthusiasm, and have come up with one more school to fulfill his mission and dream of imparting quality education to the children of rural areas.
S. Jagga Singh Ji was a Karam Yogi in its true sense, he made actions and practice a means to the revelation of the spirit. He made our lives richer by ideals that will keep inspiring us to fulfill his mission and higher purpose behind his Spirit and Action.
The Legacy of BGS…
20 years ago, in 2002 late S. Jagga Singh Ji started a school in Amargarh on his grandfather’s name “Baba Ganda Singh Public School” which is now a Senior Secondary School and is one of the most prestigious schools in Amargarh and is leading in imparting quality education, making futures of its students, teaching moral values and producing excellent results. BGS is the world of knowledge.
At BGS the students are given guidance for academic excellence, intellectual growth, art, athletics, and high standards of ethical awareness, sportsmanship and community service.
We cater every need of young minds. We can proudly say that almost every pass-out student of BGS is well settled and enjoying a happy and prosperous life. Our students are serving in govt. sector holding good posts, some are doctors- MBBS, BDS, BAMS, Veterinary and some are Lecturers and Managers etc. Many students are settled in America, Canada, U.K. and Australia also.
Late S. Jagga Singh Ji was the torch bearer of BGS Educational Society and his son S. Barjinder Singh has taken his father’s dream to the next level by coming up with one more BGS Public School for the service of public and to spread the Light of Education

BGS School follows a house system for the purpose to arouse competitive spirit in sports, co-curricular activities and academic standards. The whole school has been divided into four house to involve students in different extra curricular activities.
